Todays Lesson

In today's lesson we were put into filming groups, in my group there is Tana and Simeon. Simeon has previous experience with photography which will be a big help. We discussed some ideas of what freaky advert we wanted to do.

To get some ideas we watched 3 freaky adverts made by:

Sony - PS3

In this advert there is a baby doll sat in a room next to a PS3, for some reason the baby starts to cry and images flash in its eyes and then the PS3 levitates. I think that the whole purpose of this advert is to freak people out, as the advert makes absolutely no sense and has no relevance to the product other than the PS3 being in shot most of the time. This advert incorporates non-diegetic sound, i can tell that the sound has been added after the filming as dolls cant make the noises it makes.

Phones 4u - missing our deals will haunt you

This advert shows a woman who seems to be being followed by a little girl, but when she turns to look at the girl she is no where to be seen. This advert presents itself much like a horror film using non-diegetic sound (tense music), but also uses diegetic sound as you can hear the woman gasp and you can hear her steps.

Little Baby's Ice Cream - ice cream man

In this advert basically nothing happens. For around a minute, a man who seems to be entirely made up of cream or foam, eats spoonfuls of this cream stuff off of his head. The sound is this advert is non diegetic as there is a man speaking as a voice over for the advert and there is the sound of a baby-mobile in the background.
